Not A New Year's Resolution

I've never been one for saying "new year, new me" and I've never made any New Year's Resolutions because to be honest, I don't understand why it's such a big deal. Yes, it's quite cool that it's been a whole twelve months since the last one... but really it's only a new number on the end of the year! It's strange; I understand why people are so in to resolutions and such like, but personally I can't get in to it! I'm more of a believer in "make it happen now, don't wait" basically, because why wait until a new month/year to start changing whatever it is you want (or whatever), do it now! I get that a new year is somewhat motivational, I just prefer doing it now, rather than waiting!

I do think, though, that setting goals to achieve throughout the year is different from a resolution... Because a resolution is more "from now on I will..." where as setting goals over a time scale can be done at any time and so a new year gives you a great time scale and starting point. Start at the very beginning!

I know there's some things I would like to achieve in the next year/few years, and with everyone and their dog talking about their resolution it's made me really think about what I want.

So maybe I'm not as much of a cynic as I thought I was, who knows!

Let's see what the next 12 months has in store for us.
