One book a week - week eight!

Week eight! I missed reading a book for week seven because I had a horrific essay to write and it took priority - I'm rubbish I know.

I've read one for week eight though! Yay hahaha.

This week I read "Eleanor and Park" by Rainbow Rowell (coolest name ever or what?). I actually only bought this yesterday and read it instantly, I just couldn't wait because I'd heard some great things about it on Goodreads. Waterstones was buy one get one half price, how could I say no?

"Eleanor is the new girl in town, and with her chaotic family life, her mismatched clothes and unruly red hair, she couldn't stick out more if she tried.
Park is the boy at the back of the bus. Black T-shirts, headphones, head in a book - he thinks he's made himself invisible. But not to Eleanor... never to Eleanor.
Slowly, steadily, through late-night conversation and an ever growing stack of mix tapes, Eleanor and Park fall for each other. They fall in love the way you do the first time, when you're young, and you feel as if you have and nothing and everything to lose."

Well, that's a mouthful. Judging by the blurb, this book seemed to be such a cliché, trying-to-hard-to-be-cute book. But it wasn't! It was cute and so 'aww!' but in a natural way (does that even make sense?). I thought it was going to be cheesey and just 'ugh, really' but I was pleasantly surprised and I really enjoyed it! It was cute and lovely and sweet and an easy read. Well.. most of it. It took some dark turns and twists and truly shocked me at one point. It wasn't so nice at those bits... Quite revolting and horrible. But the romance between Park and Eleanor was lovely!

I know I don't really say much about the books, only a small thought, but I don't want to give anything away or ramble too much!
