Reckless driving

Being a young driver, the stereotype of all young drivers being reckless and irresponsible really bugs me. Not only because insurance prices are sky high, but also because I’m actually a safe driver and pay so much attention to the road that I always notice when someone does something ‘wrong’ or un-safe. I do my best to be as safe as possible because you can never tell what someone is going to do on the road, so I tend to treat everyone on the road like they don’t know what they’re doing (slightly mean, but it’s better to be safe than sorry).

I’ll admit it, I judge everyone on the roads with what they’re doing (whilst also focussing on what I’m doing) but if I see someone doing something wrong I point it out to myself or whoever is in the car with me. I also judge people when I’m in the passenger seat (I keep it to myself though!)

I was driving along the other day minding my own business listening to Mcfly when someone cut me up on a right turning from traffic lights and then beeped at me as if to blame me (it wasn’t my fault, I’d admit it if it was). It really annoyed me because it made me all one edge for the next few minutes. I hate un-safe, reckless, and rude drivers because they put everyone else on the road at danger, as well as themselves and others in their car. How annoying.

There’s a few things that I hate seeing people do on the roads, one particular thing being not indicating on roundabouts. I don’t care if you’re in the allocated lane for a certain turning off a roundabout, indicating doesn’t take a second of your time and makes everyone else more aware of what you’re doing and makes everything safer.

Reckless driving helps no one and makes everything for dangerous for, well, everyone.
So to anyone driving or soon-to-be driving, think about everyone else, too!
