Nail varnish shopping

Last week my friend and I decided that we wanted to indulge in new nail varnish. So off we went to Boots and we spent an unreal amount of time looking at every brand and every polish we could find. Boots had a 'buy one get one half price' deal going on, so it was hard to resist buying too many!

The first nail varnish I bought was this oh so pretty 'Confetti' from Barry M in a pale pink colour called 'Marshmallow'. The varnish is clear and has little speckles of pink confetti in it. I love this because it's so pretty and you get quite a lot in one stroke. There's no 'dab and place' with the confetti, it comes off the brush really well. For £3.99 it's amazing value, and also a great dupe for the Nails Inc Feather polishes which are £11 each!

Next I picked up another from Barry M, but this time one of their new (ish) 'Gelly' polishes. I choice the colour 'Greenberry'. First off I LOVE this colour because it's so bright and pretty, but I also think it's very diverse and would suit any season! The formula for these Gelly polishes are thicker than usual, but they dry very quickly and because of the formula a top coat isn't necessary, they come with 'hi-shine' anyway! I wore it for 5 days with no chipping, amazing! For £3.99 it's a steal.

My next purchase was this uh-mazing number from Essie. I'm an absolute Essie addict and had to have this as soon as I saw it. To some it may not be the most appealing colour, but I loved it the second I saw it and it looks ever more stunning on the nails. It's from Essie's Summer 2013 collection, and it's called 'The More The Merrier'. It's not got shimmer to it and it dries very creamy and glossy. It's a very vibrant and daring colour for Essie (aside from their Neon collection) and I love that! Essie might be a little more pricey than other brands but I just can't resist!

Finally, I bought this Polka Dots nail varnish from Maybelline in 'Speckled Pink'. I'd never heard of these Polka Dots polishes until I saw this pink one and a green one on the stand (they didn't have to blue one, sad face). I think this is so pretty and is different to your average glitter polish. About 3 coats of this will give good opaque coverage, but I also find that using it over other polishes makes the effect look good too. It does make the colour of the polish you're putting it over darker, but it just creates a whole new look too! I really think this nail varnish is stunning and I believe it was £2.99! I would pay double that!
