In my post regarding the new year, I mentioned that I think a year is a great time scale in which to set yourself goals, because it has a ready-made beginning and end.
One of the goals I have to decided I would like to achieve this year is read more books. I've decided I would like to read one book a week. To some that might be a lot, to some that might be barely anything. To me, it's a goal.
Balancing uni and a job and attempting to have a social life makes it difficult to sit down for a few hours and do nothing but read, but I really want to make more time for it. One a week seems do-able (I hope!).
I won't always read a new book, that would ruin my ban account! I want to re-read Harry Potter and there's some books I own that I've not yet read. However my Dad kindly gave me some money for Christmas under the instructions "spend it on books" so that, I will do. I have quite a long list of books to read, a physical list and a list on Goodreads, so I doubt I will have trouble choosing my next one.
My first read of the year is a genre I have never read before. I've chosen "Death Note" by Tsugumi Ohba. I was kindly lent this because I had heard it's amazing and so the owner of this particular copy lent me his, aww! It's the "black edition" so it's volumes 1 and 2 of the series (because it's one book, I count it has one although it's two volumes... geddit?). I've wanted to read it for about a year but never purchased it because... well, I don't know, I just didn't!
Any books I should read? Any you're reading?
